Ecommerce Launch Case Study

E-commerce Launch Case Study: 50% Growth in Sales in 90 Days

When this baby products brand approached me ahead of their ecommerce store launch in early 2024, they were excited but also overwhelmed.

They had a working Shopify store and some ad budget set aside — but there were three major problems:

  • Their product pages weren’t optimized for conversions.

  • They had no launch funnel or automated system in place.

  • They had tried ads before but got little to no return.

The result? They were stuck: great products, but no predictable way to sell them.

My goal was clear: build them a launch system that would not only generate strong first-month sales but also scale efficiently without wasting ad spend.

Within 90 days, we grew sales by 50% compared to launch month, cut ad costs by 30%, and set up email flow automation that now drives repeat purchases on autopilot.

Here’s how I did it:

1. Store Optimization

The brand’s Shopify store looked decent but wasn’t built to convert.

  • Product descriptions were generic.

  • Images lacked storytelling.

  • Checkout flow had too many friction points.

What I did:

  • Rewrote product descriptions with persuasive copy, highlighting benefits and addressing objections.

  • Added urgency elements (limited stock alerts, trust badges).

  • Simplified the checkout process for fewer abandoned carts.

2. Product Launch Setup

Running ads to a weak product page is a recipe for wasted money. So I built a conversion booster and upsell feature using Kaching.

What I implemented:

  • Landing page with a clear offer (VIP early-bird deal).

  • Encourage customers to add more items per order.

  • Boost Average Order Value (AOV).

  • Automated email sequences for sign-ups, reminders, and cart recovery.

  • Retargeting ads for visitors who didn’t buy on first touch.

This ensured every ad click was nurtured instead of wasted.

3. Paid Ads Campaigns

The brand’s biggest fear was spending money on ads with no results (a common pain point for e-commerce owners).

What I did:

  • Restructured their Meta Ads campaigns with proper audience segmentation.

  • Tested multiple creatives quickly to avoid ad fatigue.

  • Introduced Meta Catlog Ads to capture high-intent buyers.

Outcome: Cost per acquisition dropped by 30% within the first two months.

4. Retention & Automation

Selling once is good. Selling twice to the same customer is better.

What I did:

  • Built Klaviyo flows (welcome, post-purchase, upsells, win-back campaigns).

  • Integrated SMSBump to recover carts and send shipping updates.

  • Automated reporting via n8n, saving the team 5+ hours per week.

Outcome: Repeat purchases accounted for 20% of revenue by the third month.

The Results (90 Days)

  • Sales Growth: +50% increase compared to launch month

  • Ad Efficiency: –30% lower CPA (more sales, less spend)

  • Customer Retention: +20% repeat purchases

  • Operations: –60% time saved on manual tasks

The Impact

The biggest difference wasn’t just sales growth. It was that the brand finally had clarity and confidence in their systems. Instead of guessing with ads or manually chasing orders, they had a repeatable, scalable process in place.

That’s the power of combining store optimization, data-driven ads, and automation.

It doesn’t just bring traffic — it turns traffic into sales and loyal customers.
